May brought us sunshine, music… and a vibrant festival celebrating circular creativity!
Organized as part of the Interreg Baltic project “Creatives Circular Cities” by Heinrich Böll Stiftung SH and held at the Anschar Campus, this event aimed to raise awareness and engage citizens in the transition to a circular economy. It was a success: The activities offered reflected the principles of circularity, such as redesign, reuse, repair, rethinking, but also maintenance and sustainability.
Among the many highlights, one in particular inspired us: Christine Ax’s reading of “Rethinking use“ Wenn wir reparieren können wir die Wachstumsspirale vom Kopf auf die Füße stellen” (Rethinking Use: If we can repair, we can turn the growth spiral upside down). With optimism and sensitivity, she pays tribute to the spirit of the festival, while reminding us of the value of objects, the art of repair, and the urgent need to preserve our resources while respecting nature.
She kindly made her text available to us, and we have translated it. We are pleased to share it with you here and invite you to do the same.
